Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer – Kubernetes / Terraform

A growing technology team within the financial services sector is seeking a Platform Engineer to help design and build a modern cloud platform used by multiple engineering teams. This role focuses on building cloud-native infrastructure from scratch, enabling developers to deploy and operate services through fully automated, self-service platforms.

You will work across GCP and Azure, building infrastructure using Terraform and running Kubernetes (GKE/AKS) in production. The team follows an automation-first approach, with infrastructure deployed through CI/CD pipelines and managed using GitOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage cloud infrastructure in GCP and Azure using Terraform

• Design and operate Kubernetes clusters (GKE/AKS) with tools such as Helm, Kustomize and ArgoCD

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) for infrastructure and application deployments

• Implement monitoring and alerting using Prometheus and Grafana

• Automate platform tooling using Bash and scripting languages such as Python, Ruby or Go

• Design secure cloud networking and implement IAM/RBAC and authentication controls

Key Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, including building reusable modules

• Production experience operating Kubernetes platforms

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows

• Solid understanding of cloud networking and security fundamentals
